This article is to assist users in moving their contacts from the Zimbra email system to the University Email System using Outlook on the Web.
To move contacts from the Zimbra system to Exchange the first step is to export the contacts from Zimbra:
- Access Zimbra Webmail:
- Log into your Zimbra webmail account.
- Navigate to Preferences:
- Click on "Preferences".
- Select Import/Export:
- In the left-hand menu, click on "Import/Export".
- Choose Contacts:
- Select "Contacts" as the type of data to export.
- Select Account Contacts:
- Choose "Account Contacts" from the dropdown menu.
- Export Contacts:
- Click the "Export" button.
- Save CSV File:
- Zimbra will create a CSV file (e.g., "Emailed Contacts.csv") which you need to save to your computer.
Once the contacts have been exported they will need to be imported into your Exchange Online account.
- Sign in to Exchange Online:
- Log into your Exchange Online account using your Office 365 credentials.
- Navigate to People:
- Go to the "People" section
- Import Contacts:
- Locate the "Import Contacts" button (usually in the top right corner).
- Select CSV File:
- Choose "CSV file" as the import type and browse to the directory where you saved the CSV file.
- Import:
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the import.
