Microsoft 365 Training Information

Training opportunities on different Microsoft 365 products and concepts will be offered throughout the year. Check back often for new listings!


Microsoft 365 is a collection of tools and services available to Ohio State Faculty, Staff and Students. Here you will find a collection of the different trainings we have offered in the past and any upcoming opportunities.

Microsoft Informational Office Hours

We will be offering the opportunity for faculty and staff to attend Microsoft Informational Hours throught the year. This will be an opportunity to get a heads up on the features and tools Microsoft has planned to update or modify, and how the university will plan to respond. This will allow you to stay ahead of any new features that may help in your daily work.

These sessions are only open to university Faculty and Staff. You must register using your Ohio State username and password.

Additionally, online training offerings are provided on each tools service page in the Training section. Online training is offered through Microsoft's website and LinkedIn Learning.

BuckeyeLearn

We have collated a playlist of courses to streamline learning the most about Teams and OneDrive. You will need to log into Buckeyelearn to access the playlists.

Does your department need just a little more help?

OTDI has partnered with outside vendors to allow you to contract directly with them to provide Microsoft 365 training to your employees.

Global Knowledge from CDWg

Global Knowledge offers multiple options such as open enrollment training Live Instructor Led Microsoft 365 classes, and other products. These are smaller 20 person classes which are full days, but you can purchase single seats. Additionally, you can purchase customized training or private training that is live and instructor-led. To purchase the classes, contact CDWg directly for more information. Training credits can be purchased per course or in 1 year bundles.

GovConnect (Connection)

As a member of the Microsoft Global Training Partner program, Connection can help you leverage technology through learning consultants that have undergone official certification to deliver training on Microsoft’s behalf. Through courses led by a certified Microsoft Innovative Expert (MIE), you’ll learn about the possibilities within Microsoft Office 365 Education, new M365 trends, and more. The courses can focus on enhancing faculty and student success using Microsoft Teams, or courses can explore specifically on building an inclusive campus, overcoming communication barriers with translation and accessibility tools build into Office 365. Self-Paced Training Access Instructions

How to request access to the Microsoft 365 and Azure Self-Paced Learning Resources
  1. Log in to Outlook on the web, https://outlook.office365.com
    1. If you are prompted for credentials, use the same credentials you use for Microsoft 365 services (Office Online, Outlook Online, OneDrive, Teams, etc.) lastname.#@osu.edu
  2. In the Mail view (default view), in the tool bar on the far right click the and choose Discover groups
  3. In the search box type _OTDI MS Self-Paced Learning  and press enter
  4. From the search results, click the Join button in the _OTDI MS Self-Paced Learning group
  5. Within a few minutes you will receive a welcome email confirming you have joined the group
How to access the training resources once access is granted
  1. To access the self-paced training, in a web browser navigate to https://serviceshub.microsoft.com/ and click sign in
    1. If you are prompted for credentials, use the same credentials you use for Microsoft 365 services (Office Online, Outlook Online, OneDrive, Teams, etc.) lastname.#@osu.edu
  2. Once signed in click the View Learning Catalog to access the available training
