Leaving the university, and how you leave, effects what will happen to your data and content. There are a number of things users should do, or check, before they lose access.
Employees

- With MS Teams it is up to the Team Owner to make certain to transfer ownership of the team to someone else BEFORE they lose access.
- OneDrive for Business storage access
Students
- Email:
- You can continue to use your BuckeyeMail account (lastname.#@buckeyemail.osu.edu) for 2 years after graduation. No action is required from you to retain your email access during this two-year period. After that time, your email will become inactive and all data will be deleted.
- If you are an Ohio State employee, your lastname.#@buckeyemail.osu.edu will be deleted, but your lastname.#@osu.edu account will not be affected as long as you continue to work for the university. We recommend transitioning any contacts and accounts associated with any Ohio State email addresses to an alternate email service.
- This includes updating your email with OSU Athletics by visiting TicketMaster's site if you wish to continue to receive information about tickets for Ohio State athletic events after that 2-year period.
